Awarded to a high school senior who best exemplifies the character embodied by Dorothy M. Gibson – an educator in the Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas school systems for over 41 years. Dorothy M. Gibson (Lindsey) taught on the principles that it is important to be fair, knowledge is a journey, everyone is poised to learn and when knowledge is acquired, do your best to shared it with others. Applicants will need to complete an application form that asks three questions around current events in the United States and globally.

Award: $250 per semester (awarded in two awards for $125 each)

Awarded to a enrolled student at the community college level who best exemplifies the educational and benevolent spirit of Samuel L. Whiting – a science and chemistry educator and school administrator in the Tennessee and Arkansas school systems for over 45 years. Applicants will need to complete a personal essay on the power of knowledge in today’s business world.
